The Code of Practice on Expert Evidence

Forensic clinicians may be called upon to provide evidence for the purposes of the administration of justice.

This Code of Practice has been prepared primarily for the assistance of members who are ‘required to give or prepare expert evidence for the purpose of criminal proceedings’ in England and Wales in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Rules Part 19 r.19.1(2) and therefore have to comply with r.19.4(1)(j) and Criminal Practice Direction V Evidence 19A: Expert Evidence.
