We respond to consultations on policy matters issued by the UK Government, Parliament and other external agencies.

We are keen for members to input into our consultation responses. To comment on any of the consultations here, or to let us know about a consultation we may have missed, please contact forensic.medicine@fflm.ac.uk.

Current Consultations

The consultation on the draft for the development of version 2 of the Forensic Science Code of Practice is now open. The Forensic Science Code of Practice is used to set standards for forensic science activities related to crime investigations. Further information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/forensic-science-code-of-practice-version-2.

The consultation will close at 23:59 on Sunday 10 March. If you have any comments you would like to include in the FFLM response, please get in touch with forensic.medicine@fflm.ac.uk by Friday 01 March.

The Professional Standards Authority (PSA) helps to protect the public through their ‘work with organisations that register and regulate people working in health and social care’. They are undertaking a Consultation: for more information, see: Good practice guidance documents on accepted outcomes and rule-making.

Quality Standards for Healthcare Professionals who work with Victims of Torture

An FFLM lead working group produced a set of Quality Standards for Healthcare Professionals who work with Victims of Torture. FFLM members were invited to provide their feedback on the draft document.
