• Tier 1: Those earning below £37,500 pay 33% of the full subscription fee in the UK
• Tier 2: Those earning between £37,500 and £50,000 pay 66% of the full subscription fee in the UK

Reminders about the non-payment of subscription will be issued. Whether or not a reminder was actually issued or was received by the member the following will apply:

• failure to pay correct subscription within 3 months of the due date will result in initial erasure from the membership and immediate loss of privileges,
  including use of post nominal;
• failure to pay the correct subscription within 12 months will result in complete erasure. (See note below about re-joining)

When considering applications to re-join the Faculty following involuntary erasure for non-payment of correct subscription for 3 months or more the date of erasure will be considered to apply from the July 1st on which the subscription became due and not the date on which the Faculty actually erased the membership.

A member wishing to re-join the Faculty having left the membership of the Faculty for between 3-12 months either voluntarily or involuntarily (as a result of failure to pay correct subscription or for any other reason) may do so by payment of a £50.00 administration fee AND the outstanding pro- rata subscription for that year.

A member wishing to re-join the Faculty having left the membership of the Faculty for more than 12 months, either voluntarily or involuntarily (as a result of failure to pay correct subscription or for any other reason) must submit a new application and, if approved by the Membership and Fellowship Committee (MFC), must pay the current full registration fee AND also the outstanding pro-rata subscription.

Different rules apply as this Membership / Fellowship was granted under special terms and conditions and during limited time frames all of which (apart for SDS applicants) have now expired and are no longer available.

A Foundation Member or Fellow who resigns from the Faculty or who is erased for non-payment of correct subscription or for any other reason must apply to sit the relevant Membership examination or apply for membership in the Affiliate category.

The Faculty may occasionally make special arrangements entirely at its discretion to assist with the payment of subscriptions for members suffering financial hardship.

This declaration to be signed each year to accompany an application for a reduced subscription:

“I declare that the information contained in the application for a reduced subscription to the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine is true, accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge. I acknowledge that if the information I have provided should change I undertake to inform the Faculty immediately and pay, pro-rata, any subscription fee which is due.”
