Fees & Diary
Exam remark requests: £160.00. We recommend candidates request further feedback first, which’s free of charge. Note that should the result change from “fail” to “pass” after a remark, this fee will be reimbursed.
* It is important to note that candidates who choose to sit both the GFM and SOM Part 2 MFFLM exams will be asked to sit both short-answer-question exams (SAQs) on the same day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. And the same thing will happen on the OSCEs day, which will be the day after (i.e. one OSCE in the morning and one in the afternoon). So it is a very demanding couple of days for those candidates.
** There are only 09 discounted exam fees left from the DFCASA grant, which was for the first 60 first-time entrants to the Part 2 LFFLM (SOM) exam. The cost to them is only £380.00. Please note that this is for the first attempt only.
† Since March 2016 (including the candidates who sat their Part 2 Examination in that session) it has been possible for MFFLM Part 2 candidates to keep their successful result (either SAQ or OSCE/OSPE), as long as their Part 1 result is still valid. First time Part 2 applicants must apply for both components.
For specific dates, please visit the page of the exam you would like to sit
Part 1 and Diploma Examinations
are usually held once a year, in mid-October. They all normally take place from 10:00 to 13:00, online. UK time is used, whenever possible, for exams sat abroad.
Part 2 Examinations
are usually held in mid-March. The SAQs normally take place from 10:30 to 13:00 (or from 10:30 to 13:00 or 14:00 to 16:30, in case any candidate is sitting both GFM and SOM papers) online. The OSCEs have some stations that are online and some face-to-face.
OSCEs (GFM and SOM)
Candidates are expected to be available either all morning or all afternoon (as a rule of thumb, who goes first depends on the number of applicants for each: the exam, GFM or SOM, that has fewer candidates will usually take place in the morning). Please note that other factors might interfere in the AM/PM choice. OSPE candidates normally sit their exams in the afternoon.
Part 2 Examinations
We always aim to offer the Part 2 exams on consecutive days. The MLA OSPE exam on Thursday (PM), the SAQ exams on Friday (AM, PM or both – see above) and the OSCE exams on Saturday. This is to minimise the time candidates need to stay in London.
The Application Period
opens around four months before the exam date (s). Candidates then have four weeks to apply for the exam. For more information, including exact exam dates, and to apply please visit the main Exams page of our website.
are normally published four weeks after the exam date (s).
