U18 FGM Clinical Mapping

Under 18 FGM Child Protection Medical Assessment Clinical Expertise Mapping

There is a commitment in the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy to “explore the most appropriate setting for FGM medical assessments to support child victims and survivors of FGM nationally". As a starting point, there is therefore a need to understand where the clinical expertise lies. NHS England Safeguarding Team, with the support of The Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine, (FFLM) would like to map out where clinicians who are able to undertake a child protection medical assessment and provide opinion on paediatric FGM are located, to ensure that the identified clinical setting is included in referral pathways and to improve the local response. We would be grateful for your assistance in completing the following survey or sharing with clinical colleagues who have the expertise.

Step 1 of 2
