Early Evidence Collection – Training Videos

These short training videos provide clear, practical demonstrations of key non‑intimate forensic sampling techniques, supporting consistent practice across clinical and forensic settings.

Each video focuses on a specific procedure, showing the correct equipment and collection method.

These videos are designed to support front-line police officers and forensic clinicians and reflect current FFLM guidance, promoting techniques aligned with best practice.

Please note that the Recommendations for the Collection of Forensic Specimens from Complainants and Suspects are updated every six months, in January and July, and should always be consulted before undertaking any sampling.

We would like to thank Police Scotland and Mountain Healthcare for sharing these videos and allowing us to make them accessible to a wider audience.
