Undertaking Expert Work: The Process

Wednesday 13 January 2027 | 1:00–2:00pm
Dr Farah Yusuf

What does it mean to undertake expert work, and what should clinicians consider before accepting a case?

This practical webinar will explore the process of undertaking expert work, including what constitutes relevant expertise, the duties of an expert and practical considerations when accepting cases – including when to accept work, how to approach it and what is required.

Who is this for?
Forensic clinicians who are already experienced in the clinical management of non-fatal strangulation, and who are undertaking expert witness work or considering doing so.

About the speaker: Dr Farah Yusuf is a forensic physician at Saint Mary’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, with extensive experience in forensic medicine, including examining patients following non-fatal strangulation. She is a Fellow and Examiner of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine (FFLM), delivers training in sexual offences medicine in the UK and internationally, and acts as an expert witness.
