RSM: Memory in civil and criminal settings

A joint meeting organised by the Clinical Forensic & Legal Medicine Section, with The Medico-legal Society and The Expert Witness Institute. Aims To discuss the effects of memory from trauma, dementia in both civil and criminal settings and to look into the impact of revalidation on expert witnesses. Objectives At the end of the meeting, participants will be able to discuss the effect in memory from trauma and discuss the assessment of memory impairment. They will be able to understand the legal aspects of brain injury claims and review the impact of memory disorders in criminal settings, including fitness to plead.
