Level 3 Child Safeguarding 2012

At our first Child Safeguarding course in 2010, we garnered positive evaluations like: "Overall an excellent course and needs to be run annually." "Excellent presentations and the speakers did justice to their topics." The Board has decided that another course this year would fulfil the obligations that we all have to keep up to date in this paramount subject. This 2-day course will be an educational experience from a variety of agencies covering all of the knowledge domains of Level 3* Child Safeguarding training. Delegates will be asked to undertake some pre-course reading, and to work a long day on the first day. We believe we will offer an educationally rewarding, and professionally enhancing weekend for all that attend. The course is designed with Forensic Physicians in mind, but we hope will be of significant interest to Medico-legal Advisers who advise colleagues with child safeguarding concerns, and medical coroners whose enquiries will sometimes touch on child safeguarding issues. The keynote address will be given by Deputy Children’s Commissioner, Sue Berelowitz and speakers include: Sue Eardley Deborah Hodes Michael Wilks Gillian Colville Nina Ellin and many more. The programme will be available on this page shortly. Given the prevalence of child maltreatment and child detention (circa 20% of arrestees) we encourage all to apply. To book your place, complete the booking form and return to the office by Friday 5 October. If you have any queries about the course, please email Dr Peter Green.
