Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine Annual Conference

  The Faculty’s Annual Conference in 2008 is to be held between 3rd-6th June at The Marriott Tudor Park Hotel, Ashford Rd, Breasted Nr Maidstone Kent ME14 4NQ. The setting is in the shadow of Leeds Castle in the very middle of Kent and is easily accessible by rail, road and plane. The historic towns of Canterbury, Rochester and Tunbridge Wells are all within a short distance. It will commence with the AGM at 15.30hrs, followed by The David Jenkins Memorial Lecture on Tuesday 3rd June. The full academic programme will be opened by the Chief Constable of Kent on Wednesday at 09.30hrs and following this will be presentations over the next two and a half days by eminent professors in their field, presidents of academic institutions as well as the not so eminent but just as interesting jobbing doctors, police officers, scientists and social workers. There is a general theme of alcohol in the academic programme; some presentations which do not share this theme are included for interest to the conference goer. Dr Andy Dott [agdott@doctors.org.uk] will be pleased to hear from anyone who would like to present a paper or who would like more information. There will be a social programme both structured with a themed evening and a formal dinner dance as well as the unstructured networking that most necessarily occurs in the bars. The partners programme will run in tangent with the academic programme. The conference closes at 13.00hrs on Friday 6th June and following this there will be a golf tournament teeing off at 14.00hrs in the grounds of the hotel.
