AFMS: Doctors in Trouble? – An update on Clinical Negligence and Duty of Care for Healthcare Professionals

The Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences is holding a one day Medical Negligence course in November 2014. The course will host a number of eminent speakers to provide doctors and allied healthcare professionals with a better understanding of key topics in medical negligence as well as an update on some recent development in this field. This course will be held on the 5th of November from 9am to 5pm and the provision of 6 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points is available on completion of the day as well as a certificate of attendance. Aims The course aims to provide doctors and allied health care professionals with an up to date and comprehensive overview of some of the most important issues in medical negligence as well as providing guidance to GMC's revalidation process. This course will allow attendees to reflect on their own practice to better navigate potential pitfalls that may occur in the future. Eligibility and Suitability The course is open to any practising doctor or allied health care professional as well any students in these fields. The course is also open to those in the legal professions and students of these subjects as well as members of HM Coroner's Office and those in the dental profession.
