“Patient Focused!” Medical Photography Course

Patient Focused! Is a three day course in medical photography which trains clinicians how to photograph patients professionally, ethically and legally. The course is accredited with the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP). Students who pass the assessment on day three will be eligible to apply for licentiate membership of BIPP which awards the “LBIPP” post-nominal.

Each course is conducted by experienced photographers and doctors: all are BIPP-qualified. The course attracts 18 CPD points via the FFLM and is approximately 50% theory and 50% practical. It covers ethical and legal issues such as consent, confidentiality, data protection and GMC guidelines.

Students can now divide the three day course into one or two day blocks over the space of six months: students will still be able to apply for Licentiate of BIPP provided they pass the assessment on the third day. This may be of interest to colleagues who have difficulty getting a three day block away from work and it may also save on hotel costs.
