FFLM Training and Education Subcommittee

Applications are invited for additional members of the Faculty’s Training and Education Subcommittee. There is a need for four new members to represent various groups of FFLM members who are not currently represented on the committee. We are looking for:

– 1 nurse – who must be currently practising in Clinical Forensic & Legal Medicine, in Custody (General Forensic Medicine) and /or sexual assault (Sexual Offences Medicine);

– 1 medical coroner, who must be in active Coronial practice;

– 1 MLA from MDDUS, who must be actively working as an MLA;

– 1 MLA from MPS, who must be actively working as an MLA.

Applicants must come from the current membership (Associate, Affiliate, Licentiate, Member, Fellow) of the FFLM and must be in good standing. This is important work and will require a reasonable time commitment including attendance (by phone) at approximately two to three committee meetings per year. The next meeting will be on Monday 04 October 2017 at 20:00.

The aims of the Training and Education subcommittee are:

– To develop a training programme across the breadth of the membership;

– To review and reflect on feedback from educational meetings.

The committee is chaired by the Academic Dean and reports to the Academic Committee.

Representatives will serve a term of three years which may be extended by a further two years.
